DCMS has an app for that!

DocBookMD™ Experiences Record Growth

In 2011, 500 Dallas County Medical Society members joined a network of nearly 100,000 physicians who can access DocBookMD™, a HIPAA-compliant mobile application. The free app is a DCMS member benefit that enables physicians to connect, communicate and collaborate within their local medical community. Physicians can send text messages, X-rays, EKGs, lab results, and images quickly and easily to other DCMS members. Designed by physicians for physicians, the application is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android phones. To download the application, visit the App store on your Smartphone or visit docbookmd.com.

DocBookMD™ solves the so-called ban on texting patient information recently imposed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Physicians are using the app for consultations and collaboration on a myriad of patient concerns. Especially in life-threatening instances, DocBookMD™ results in faster care for patients.

DCMS was one of the first county medical societies to partner with DocBookMD™ in late 2009. Today, medical societies in more than 20 states offer the mobile application to their members.

The $50 annual subscription fee for DocBookMD™ has been WAIVED thanks to the generosity of Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) and its continuous support of organized medicine. See the details.
