Installation of new DCMS President
On January 21, 2010 we celebrated the installation of the 127th president of DCMS, Stephen Ozanne, MD,. See his president's profile for more information about Dr. Ozanne.

Two awards are also presented at this dinner—the Max Cole Leadership Award and the Millard J. & Robert L. Heath Award.

2010 Max Cole Award Recipient – Don R. Read, MD
In 1984, the board of directors established a distinguished service aware to recognize a DCMS member who had provided outstanding leadership and service to DCMS and to the community of Dallas. The first award was presented to Dr. Charles Max Cole, past DCMS and TMA president and former AMA board member. Dr. Cole passed away on June 1, 2009 at the age of 95. The 2010 recipient of the Max Cole Leadership Award was Don R. Read, MD.

2010 Millard J. & Robert L. Heath Award Recipient – Governor Rick Perry
In 1989, the DCMS board of directors established the Millard J. & Robert L. Heath Award to recognize a layperson who has provided outstanding leadership and service to medicine and to the community of Dallas. The award was given its name in recognition of the combined 51 years of service and exemplary stewardship of Millard J. Heath and Robert L. Heath. Millard served 30 years as the Society’s first executive officer from 1945 to 1975. Robert joined the Society in 1969 and, after the retirement of his father in 1975, served as executive officer for the next 21 years. The 2009 recipient of the Millard J. & Robert L. Heath Award was Governor Rick Perry.
