Michael J. Darrouzet
DCMS Executive Officer

Michael Darrouzet has been with DCMS since 1988, serving as CEO since January 1997. During his first eight years with the medical society he held the position of assistant executive officer. Prior to joining DCMS he was a hospital administrator in Waxahachie, Texas.

Mr. Darrouzet received a bachelor of business administration in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1983 he graduated with a master's degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.

Mr. Darrouzet is on the board of directors for the American Association of Medical Society Executives. He also chaired the AAMSE management resource committee before becoming president in 2005.

Mr. Darrouzet is an ex-officio board member of the Visiting Nurse Association and works closely with the Dallas/Ft. Worth Hospital Council and the Dallas/Ft. Worth Business Group on Health.

In 1992 he served on the Technology Advisory Committee for a trauma study conducted jointly between the medical society and hospital council, which studied the incidence and treatment of trauma to build a better infrastructure for care.
