Dallas County Medical Society is dedicated to supporting physicians who provide the highest quality medical care and is pledged to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. DCMS is one of 116 component county medical societies in the Texas Medical Association -- one of 50 state medical associations forming the American Medical Association. The DCMS is not an agency of county government and does not issue licenses to practice medicine.

The medical society provides numerous member benefits. The medical society plays an important part in "grass-roots" legislation and represents physicians' interests with local legislative and congressional representatives. A mediations committee is available to solve problems without legal interference. Another valuable benefit is your inclusion in the annual DCMS Official Directory, which many physicians and hospitals use as a referral resource. Also, the medical society's referral service covers the entire county and offers newcomers and others seeking medical care a choice of physicians by specialty and ZIP code area. The Dallas Medical Journal, published monthly, updates members on medical issues and local activities. In addition, DCMS offers business resources via the DCMS Circle of Friends, which provides a "one-stop shop" for resources that enhance the business side of medicine. Two of our newest benefits include our DCMS Web site and Referral Service Plus program where visitors can link directly to physicians' sites through the Physician Facts section of our site.

The Dallas County Medical Society represents all groups that take an interest in the democratic process available to all physicians.
