Dallas County Medical Society - Not Just a Directory Anymore

Many Dallas County Medical Society members understand first-hand the tangible benefits of renewing their membership, while some choose to renew or join for no other reason than, "it's the right thing to do." For others, the only benefit they can name is receiving a DCMS directory. Maybe it used to seem that way, but now DCMS is more, so much more, than a directory of members…

Frustrated filling out page after page of credentialing forms? DCMS provides physicians with the newly approved Texas Standardized Credentialing Application, which is accepted by all major health plans in the Metroplex. The application is available online.

Need help getting paid by managed care companies? DCMS can arrange for you to have a free, 30-minute session with a TMA reimbursement specialist. Contact Bryan White for more information.

Want to market your practice on the Web? DCMS Referral Service Plus links your Web site to our popular physician search tool - Physician Facts - used by hundreds of patients every month. Contact Deanna Wooten for more information.

Upgrading your office systems and not sure what products to buy? See our DCMS Circle of Friends and our Business Resources which includes current advertisers for choices. Need to speak to someone about it, contact Bryan White, director of medical economics, for more information.

Tired of working in a vacuum? The DCMS-hosted Medical Directors Forum brings together leaders from large group practices to discuss relevant topics and solutions to problems. Contact Tracy Casto for more information.

Looking for a way to find meaning in medicine? The new Community Service Committee matches physician volunteers with community health projects in need. Visit the Community Services section of our web site or contact Connie Webster for more information.

Short of CME hours? DCMS offers CME programs and seminars throughout the year, including DCMS MedExplore® and Building Bridges Managed Care Expo. In fact, earning CME is as easy as reading the Dallas Medical Journal.

DCMS in Action
DCMS plays a major role in helping define the practice environment. In the last two years, DCMS efforts with the US Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General's Office have directly affected every physician in the county. No other organization represents every physician in Dallas County. For reasons like these, we believe membership in organized medicine is the right thing to do, but we want you to get your money's worth and that calls for taking advantage of the many features and benefits of membership.

You can count on DCMS to:

  • Lobby for medicine and endorse political candidates who put patients first
  • Submit resolutions to the TMA in the best interest of Dallas County physicians and patients
  • Resolve illegal contracting practices and back you during managed care conflicts
  • Serve as your advocate and liaison to state agencies, coalitions, and health-interest groups
  • Provide education on new rules and laws, such as clean claims and the public use data file

What's more, we still offer the benefits of membership you're familiar with, such as:

  • DCMS Official Directory of Members, used for physician referrals and by the medical community
  • Referral Service Plus, which links your Web site to Physician Facts on the DCMS Web site
  • A subscription to Dallas Medical Journal and Texas Medicine

DCMS-Your Professional Society On Call
Regardless of which DCMS benefits and services you choose to take part in, we are available for any question or concern you may have about practicing medicine. As your personal assistant in professional affairs we will provide you with answers and resources. The welfare of your practice is our priority. For a list of staff members, see Who We Are.
