High-Tech Member Services Less paperwork, speedier access to member info

DCMS is putting new technology to good use by making the DCMS Directory Profile Sheet available online. Because of collaborative efforts of DCMS membership staff and TMA’s Information Technology Department, DCMS members now can review and edit their profiles online.

In October of every year, profile sheets are mailed to members to confirm their address information in the DCMS database. But this year, physicians with an active e-mail address listed with DCMS received this information electronically. It is important for physicians to review this information so it is accurate in the 2004/2005 DCMS Directory. Changes received after April 1 will not be reflected in the 2004/2005 DCMS Directory.

DCMS offers three membership directories: the version for DCMS members only; the version sold to health-related organizations and which does not include home information; and DigiDOCS, a digital version for handheld computers.

DigiDOCS is available for handheld computers with the Palm OS versions 3, 4, and 5. DigiDOCS is a downloadable program that provides a searchable database of DCMS member physician contact information—physician name, specialty, ZIP code, phone, fax, and e-mail. If your e-mail address is correct in the DCMS system, you easily can download this directory of DCMS members from our Web site at www.dallas-cms.org. Click on Member Services, then DigiDOCS for more information.

Updated profile information must be received by April 1 to be included in this year’s directory. Members who are delinquent in paying 2004 dues will not be listed in the directory.
