Remember those intense years of medical school? How about that first week of class and the first major exam? Our annual Medical Student Dinner is the perfect setting for you to recollect and share your war stories with the newest class of medical students at UT Southwestern. DCMS enjoys celebrating this special time; this is our 29th year to invite member physicians to sponsor students at our medical student dinner. You should have received the invitation to the Aug 22 dinner. If youve never attended or sponsored this event, you are missing out on a tremendous treat! Weve spoken with physicians who graduated from UT Southwestern who vividly remember attending this dinner and the tremendous impact the night had on them even a decade ago. Students at the dinner will have been in classes for only the first week of at least 4 years of intense study. They will be honored and humbled that youve taken the time to welcome them to your profession, and they will be eager to hear about your experiences surviving medical school and choosing a specialty. This dinner continues to be one of our most popular functions. As a patron, you can sponsor one or more students with your $140 donation, which will provide dinner for yourself, your guest, and two students (or one student and spouse). You will sit with the students during dinner. If youre unable to attend, you still can participate. Please make a tax-deductible contribution to sponsor a student or two and continue this excellent tradition. The students are given a list of all sponsors who paid for their dinners, so your contribution will be directly acknowledged. The dinner is being hosted by the Dallas Academy of Medicine, the medical societys charitable foundation. All contributions for student meals are tax deductible. Join DCMS and Dallas Academy of Medicine as we take you back to that first week in medical school. The Medical Student Dinner will be from 68 pm Sunday, Aug 22, at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel, 2222 Stemmons Fwy. For reservations or more information, contact Deanna Wooten, DCMS director of membership, at 214-948-3622, ext. 231, or email deanna@dallas-cms.org. Reservations/donations must be received by Aug 16. Payment
is accepted by check, VISA, or MasterCard.
