AMA 2026 Medicare physician payment schedule and quality payment program proposed rule summary

On July 14, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Calendar Year (CY) 2026 Revisions to Payment Policies under the Medicare Physician Payment Schedule (PFS) and Other Changes to Part B Payment and Coverage Policies proposed rule and associated fact sheet. If finalized, these policies will take effect on January 1, 2026, unless otherwise noted. Interested parties have until September 12, 2025, to provide comments on the proposed rule.
