Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, and recommendation from local and state health officials, DCMS has cancelled all in-person events until further notice. The health and safety of our members is extremely important to us.
In the words of our current DCMS president, Dr. Mark Casanova, “I have no doubt Dallas County physicians and our Medical Society overall will face the current challenge with devotion, vigor, and compassion. In that sense, our citizens will be well served. For you, personally, my friends and colleagues, my ask is that you take care of yourselves, love yourselves, and know that you are loved and appreciated.”
In lieu of in-person events, DCMS is excited to offer a virtual speakers series with relevant and inspiring content. These webinars will be the 3rd Thursday of every month and our goal is to offer CME during each session. CLICK HERE to register for an upcoming webinar or to view the session schedule. Be sure to check back for new speaker information and networking opportunities.

Family Picnic Celebration
All DCMS physicians and their immediate family members are invited to a fun afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum. For a nominal fee per family, all our guests receive admission to the Arboretum, parking, lunch, and activities for adults and children. Door prizes are provided by our DCMS Circle of Friends.
The installation dinner is a wonderful evening where we celebrate the
installation of our DCMS president and recognize the service of the immediate past
president. It is a tradition for all DCMS past presidents to participate in the
ceremony. Two awards also are presented at this dinner — the Charles Max Cole,
MD, Leadership Award and the Millard J. & Robert L. Heath Award.
On the Sunday after the first week of medical school, DCMS welcomes freshman
students to the family of medicine at the annual Medical Student Dinner. Almost
250 medical students from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
and third-year Texas A&M students studying at Baylor University Medical
Center are joined by practicing DCMS physicians who pay for the students’
dinners. The dinner is sponsored by the DCMS Foundation, the medical society’s charitable foundation. All contributions
for student meals are tax deductible.
This annual family gathering is our largest event. All DCMS members and their immediate families are invited to a fun evening at the Dallas Zoo. Along with a delicious dinner, entertainment is provided for kids of all ages. This event brings together hundreds of DCMS physicians and their families
from throughout our membership area. Door prizes are provided by our DCMS Circle of Friends.
DCMS members can spruce up their referral base and network with their DCMS colleagues
several times a year at our networking socials. To accommodate physicians
throughout our membership area, these events are held at venues in different
parts of Dallas County.
out with the Texas Rangers
DCMS hosts members at a Texas Rangers baseball game at Globe Life Stadium in
Arlington in May. DCMS reserves a party suite on the first base line and tickets include dinner.
DCMS members and their immediate family members are invited to attend a family
friendly movie at Studio Movie Grill. For a nominal fee, each attendee is provided lunch,
drinks, popcorn, and a movie ticket. We encourage members to submit suggestions
for movies to be shown at future Reel Docs events.
In 1998, DCMS formed the Retired Physicians Club to foster fellowship and
collegiality among our retired members. The club meets four times a year at the Park City Club to enjoy lunch (for a fee) and hear a speaker.
