Zika Virus Information from Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS): On Feb. 2, 2016, Dallas County Health and Human Services confirmed that a case of Zika virus was transmitted locally through sexual contact. This is the first instance of transmission of the virus to occur within the United States. The Zika virus brochure below includes information about the spread, treatment, and Dallas County’s mosquito management program. DCHHS has also provided instructions below for area clinicians who want to submit specimens for testing for Zika virus.
