Dr. Shaina Drummond didn’t grow up with a clear path to becoming a physician, let alone the president of her local medical society. The Wichita, Kansas, native is the daughter of a single teen mother who was raised by her grandparents. Today, she is an associate professor in the anesthesiology and pain management department at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the president of the Dallas County Medical Society.
